I'm creating a logo for a church looking to update its image. I've made this logo, but I'm afraid it may be too ambiguous. What do you see when you look at this image http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k225/cgilsing/church.jpg

top view of three people, possibly dad, mom and kid with a cross in the middle like saying god-centered family or the holy family
this is not ambiguous...

Your design is very good! My first impression, however, was why you chose to incorporate the crescents into a logo for a church. I'm sure it was meant simply as a design device but historically the crescent has been associated with the faith of Islam... the Ottomans... as well as the color red. The Christians have the cross, the Jewish religion has the Star of David, and the Muslims have the crescent moon. Given that it could be misconstrued as a possible interpretation... the crescents also dominate the cross.... which I don't think was the intention. So, I am less concerned about ambiguity than I am about the meaning of the symbols. I'm sure there are those who would disagree with me.... it's just how I saw it:) You're a wonderful designer and keep up the good work.

I see a cross to left center and 3 cresent moon shapes and 3 circles. I could see the 3 cresent images as relating to the Trinity " Father , Son, Holy Ghost surrounding His people, and the Circles representing the largest the Faith, middle the Church and smallest the people.

I like it. It is simple yet it makes you look at it to think about what it represents.

Three crescents, three circles set in the center of said crescents, to the upper left, a shape styled out of the cross with a few dropshadows below it, all inside a red circle.

If you want what I think people see...

Three people-shaped things, in hugging motion, around a cross.

Yes, very good. I see several things. All good. The color bothers me, though. At very first glance, I thought Russia. Then I saw the cross.

Good luck.
