Yes, it is the same thing as bath salts, it just isn't scented. But it does take longer to dissolve if you don't crush it.

Yes. I like mixing 1 pt rock salt, 1 pt epsom salt and 1 pt Dead Sea salt as my base. Then I add a small amount of almond oil and frangrance of choice. I don't color mine. You can also get diadrentic salt that holds the fragrance better and helps the mix meld

I would recommend you get epsom salt for that is what it's purpose is. Rock salt is a little stronger on the skin

yes actually i have a freind who makes bath salts out of rock salt. and its a really good exfoliant as well.

Not really, it won't dissolve like bath salts and you will have a very gritty time of it.
