To those of you answering "yes": If I have 10 dollars in the bank, but think I have a million, how much money do I have in the bank? And, will I necessarily feel better because I think I have more or will something make me feel worse eventually? Can you say "bounced checks" and "death"? Ok, maybe death won't be so bad, but I got you on the bounced checks.

Your outlook on life is not going to change the fact that you have a terminal illness. You can't make yourself better just by thinking you are. People who preach this kind of thing are ridiculous and cruel.

The psychological impact on the physical will only get you so far. Illnesses are positively impacted by positive thoughts, but can not completely disappear by thought alone. If that were true, why the heck would we bother with pills, doctors, health care systems or, alternative medicine etc? Why not due away with physical illness and death altogether by willing it away. Puuuulease.

In another interpretation of your question, terminal can imply the end of life here and in the thereafter. I think the afterlife is a nice *belief* that can and will never be known as fact in this life. If you're not thinking positively, you won't adopt a belief in the afterlife and life would, in fact, be terminal.

Terminal illness effects the body. The body is the weakest
link in the being. The body is that part of the being which
actively contributes to the happenings of the physical world.
The body couldn't operate and participate in the physical
world without the assistance of the mind. If the body
expires then the mind appears not to be burdened by
the physical world. The energy and effects that the
mind set into motion during its connection with
the body contribute to the motion of the universe
for the rest of eternity; the physical tool might be
laid to rest, but the physical resources(energy and
matter) remain present in a continuous chain
reaction which continues indefinitely. No, terminal
illness is not a result of "negative" thinking; thinking
is always positive. Terminal illness is often due to an
inefficiency of the body to maintain its physical chemistry.

Possibly. Your mind emits electrical impulses into the universe with every thought, those impulses then change subatomic particles of atoms, every negative thought is 100x stronger than a positive, but with each thought you are changing and attracting situations. So if you were to dwell on your illness, constantly talking about it to others, or thinking about it, then yes, it is quite possible that you could be worsening it. The best way to go about reversing this is to take to heart what your doctor says with reason and logic, but the minute you leave the office, leave it there. Don't discuss your illness with anyone, if they ask, simply state that its getting better all the time (positive thought 10 points!) and change the subject. when you catch yourself dwelling on how you feel or your problems, simply force your brain to focus on whatever positive aspect you have in your life right now (if you have none, make one, hobbies, groups, ect...) As humans, we only have negative feelings to serve as a warning that we are on the wrong track and its time to turn around. I wish you much luck and much health! (positive though for you, from other 20 points!)

No and yes. You cant change the fact that you have a terminal illness just by power of the mind. But I do believe that positive thinking is pretty powerful and will make anyones day better. If you are sick its hard to think positive all the time. But if you can manage to look on the bright side it'll do wonders for your spirit. Thinking positive may have positive effects with dealing with your illness. good luck to you:)

I only comprehend that ninety 9% of the excuses human beings commit suicide for could nicely be conquer...they are generally non everlasting problems or melancholy which would be conquer with time. only approximately no project is hopeless. i comprehend this is puzzling to confirm once you're actually not thinking suitable, and that's the subject. So regrettably I have no first rate answer for you...yet is there ever a first rate answer to the question of suicide? so far as abortion is in contact, i wouldn't in any respect have one, yet i think of it could surely proceed to be felony. additionally, the professional-lifers are not only attempting to do away with abortion, they are actively attempting to do away with delivery administration. in many states (california is one) a doctor or pharmacist can legally refuse to dispense delivery administration if it violates their very own ideals. there are various different procedures they are additionally (effectively) attempting to do away with delivery administration. So incredibly they choose women persons to be little one making machines even while they are able to't cope with to pay for or cope with having young toddlers....and you comprehend human beings are not going to cease having intercourse. mutually as they are at it, why do not they ban women persons from working and voting and conversing publicly???

Positive thinking can certainly keep you healthier than you otherwise would be, and might slightly extend your life if you have a terminal illness. People who have an optimistic outlook on life tend to have stronger immune systems which keeps them healthier. However, I have never seen anything to indicate that a lack of positive thinking (or lack of prayer, for that matter) can lead to a terminal disease.

The truth is that sometimes bad things happen to good people through no fault of their own. That's the nature of the world we live in.

If this question is not hypothetical and you (or someone you know) actually do have a terminal disease, my condolences.

No. It could be environmental or genetic. But, I think the positive thinking could be useful.

By the way, I really hope you don't have a terminal illness. Best wishes for you.

No. If you have a terminal illness it's because something is attacking your body and will eventually stop your vital organs.

No, absolutely not. At most, a positive mindset may mean that you suffer less. Not that you have less pain, nausea, etc., but that you don't suffer as much from the pain you do have.
