I think you mean Catholics rather than Christians...
The Catholic Bible DOES have a few more books than the Protestant Bible. This is because around the time that the Bible was being written the church decided to close the canon, or, not allow any more additions to the Bible. The Catholic Church later decided that they would allow a few more books in.
These extra books are called the apocrypha or the deuterocanonical books. These books are Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Ecclesiasticus, Baruch, First and Second Maccabees, Additions to Esther and Daniel!
Also.. Catholics rejected First and Second Esdras,
Prayer of Manasses, and Susanna as part of their canon.
I hope this helps! :)

What are you talking about, Protestants are Christians. The Bibles are the same length, some Bibles have extra books called the Apocrypha which are books that didn't make the "cut" to be in the Bible.

There is no book I've ever heard of that was referred to as "the Bible of Protestants". Doesn't exist. Protestants are Christians, they use "the Bible of Christians", as you put it.

The simple answer to this question is that when King James appointed a committee to draft a non-Catholic version of the Bible, they determined that certain books were "canonical" and should be included, while certain other books were "non-canonical" and had no place in the Bible. The "non-canonical" books were edited out.

Not exactly, there are more books for CATHOLICS.
My bible was originally a KING JAMES, that is what Protestants use, Catholics use the DOUAY Bible. It has several more books that are NOT Canonized, but period fiction. It was good for general instruction, but not Bible fact.
Much like Aesop's fables are good lessons but not fact.
Catholics, are different from Christians!
Catholics follow what the POPE has to say, and their priests. They do not usually READ OR UNDERSTAND their bible.
CHRISTIANS, try to read and understand the bible, and comply with its decrees. Even if they fail, THEY try.
Again Catholics and Christians ARE different!

It should be obvious. And I believe Protestants are also Christians. Different factions of Biblical faiths select the chapters and verses they wish the congregation to adhere to and dismiss the chapters and verses they find conflicting with the tenets of the particular faith. Doesn't speak well of the Bible when people pick and choose what is righteous and what is left aside. Doesn't speak well of organized religions who use a set of documents (bible) and profess them to be facts but ignore segments that displease them. Curious way to run a club.

It all depends upon what "spin" you want to put on the story. Leave in the parts you agree with and edit out or revise the parts you don't so you can be "right" .
Bottom line, all religions believe what they want, that they are the only true religion and all other religions are wrong based upon their "correct" information. All religious books were written by humans as needed in order to promote those particular humans' views. Each book can be used to prove its own validity. Just ask someone who believes in its information.

The governing body which overseas the Protestant church decided which books it "recognizes" and does not recognize some books as other churches do.

This question doesn't make sense to me, to be perfectly honest. Protestants ARE Christians.
