i just got a new gateway laptop. i was sort of in small amount to spend so i went to best buy and got a gateway for 450. its great since its small and very nice looking what drives me crazy is that it only has 512 MB with a hard drive of 80G. this causes for the laptop to take at least 5 mts to upload and start up, this is bothering me alot so during the weekend i want to take it to wearegolden.com and i would like to know your suggestions on how to get this laptop to be at least normal fast. if you can point out the products in that website i would gladly appreciate it. im running windows vista home edition. thanks!

get yourself some more ram,with vista you want at least 1gig that alone will make your laptop run faster

Go to Start, Run, msconfig, StartUp Tab, and Uncheck any apps or programs that are not needed to start up. I only keep the Firewall and Antivirus starting with windows. All other's DO NOT need to be in the startup list.. Good Luck
