He has done all what has been asked of him as a batsman and faired resonably well as a bowler too. A very good fieldsman and has serious guts many English cricketers lack these days.
He deserves the captaincy.
Now is the hardest part. To motivate yourself as well as the team and to WIN reqires courage, determination, leadership etc. Think he got all this. Hope he can make use of his talents.

I think appointing Collingwood as the ODI captain is a great move on Englands part. He is a solid player who does not get bothered by anything and he stays calm. I reckon he is a future test captain and this is the perfect way to groom him for that role

As there seems to be nobody else yes I do.The total disruption going on in English cricket needs to be stopped and I hope the powers that be will settle on him for a while and consolidate the England side behind him.Having 4 captains in the space of 9 months is an absolute joke and has caused untold damage to the England team.
I do hope he is the right man as he seems to be.

Yes, not cuz he's the senior player, but cuz i think he can captain very well. Ok, he may have lost an odi series against the Worst Indies squad, but hey, give him a chance! Besides, who else are u gonna pick? Pietersen doesn't want it, the only logical choice is gonna be Prior!

Yes,because besides being one of the senior player in the team, he has proved his worth with bat and ball in the ODI matches for England.
