I was told that family members can not serve your divroce papers. You can have the sherriff's department do it, or a friend (there is a form from the court this person HAS to fill out though make sure you get it and that it is filled out PROPERLY). This friend can either serve your husband in person or can mail the papers RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED using their mailing address, NOT YOUR'S. If you don't do it properly it will be considered illegally served and you'll have to start all over.

In almost every state, as long as YOU do not do it, ANYONE over the age of 18 without a felony conviction can serve the papers. Good luck in your divorce.

Yes you're brother can do it. That's good service. But its easier to have the sheriff or whatever law enforcement agency in your area is that handle's process service. There should be and office in the court house you filed the papers in.

In my state it's anyone over 18 who is not a party to the lawsuit. Your brother should be fine if he is over 18.

I had a choice to do it but I paid $30.00 bucks to have someone else do it. So in your case, yes your brother, mother, aunt, anyone could do it for you.
Good luck ; )
