...``the creeps`...is means that, for no reason I can quite pin down (though he is obviously completly lacking in an charisma, he used to serve the Nazis, is colossally vain, has a reputation as `God`s Rottweiler`and also has the ugliest eyes I have ever seen) he gives me the willies.

The Da Vinci Code was written for him. Way too hardline for a modern day society!

He is obviously very humanitarian, but a little too blinkered in many ways.

I agree. There's definitiely a different vibe to this pope. I'm not catholic but I could definitely perceive the spirituality of the previous popes and it was like the vibe given off by the Dali Lama. But this pope is different. There's something hidden in his eyes that is 'creepy' and I wouldn't like to be in the same room as him. To me he's more like I imagine a Mafia boss to be.

It was VERY weird the look on Bush's face after he'd had an audience with him a few weeks ago. He went in all smiley and goofy the way we know him, but he looked 100% shook to the core when he walked out, like when you turn to ice after being told something that totally shocks you in a bad or scary way, and he wouldn't say a word. I've never seen him look like that and it was peculiar.

I'm middle-aged so there have been a few popes in my time and none of them have been so involved with politics and world leaders the way this one is, and I don't understand why they all consult him and why he should be involved at all.

Have to agree with you. He certainly had a hard role to fill. Pope John Paul was so chaismatic and Pope Gregory-try as hard as he can-is no where near it. The German and Nazi background does give me pause to wonder. I'm a recovering Catholic, so perhaps I'm a bit biased. Still like the question.

Yeah he gives me the creeps too to say the least! He is soo different to Pope John Paul, he seemed to be a very nice pope. I dunno but Benidect seems so different, more into politics etc; maybe it's true the lamb before the lion! I wonder if he is actually bad if you know what I mean! I've been doing a bit of researching about him, here are some o the link I found that you may find interesting!

He certainly isn't photogenic, but then is that a requirement for the head of the Catholic Church?

I don't like some of his recent statements which I think act to exclude people rather than to try to include people and invite them to seek a new path in life.
As for his boyhood involvement in WWII I think you should read a little more about that before pronouncing judgement.
I have reserved judgement as I have heard conflicting stories and I haven't yet looked for independent sources of information.

A Prada shoe wearing Pope with a questionable past is creepy to me. See where all your offerings in the collection plate are going? Prada for the Pope.

What's the big deal. The pope is a man like any other man on earth. He has never met God and he is no closer to God then you or me. He went to school like we did. He is doing a job that he picked. He is now a supervisor at his job.He seems like a nice guy. I really don't think God looks at him any different then he looks at the rest of his children. Remember we are all children of God not just some of us.

He doesn't seem to be a gentile character. Not like the last Pope who had a kind and gently face with mannerisms to match. I have to say his past and upbringing must have something to do with this. Yes I know where your coming from on this one.

Well I understand what you are saying. It is something in his eyes that is sort of creepy. That is just like a first impression type thing. I don't know much else about him beside the nazi thing. My mother in law hangs on his every word and worships everything about him.

Maybe he's the Last Pope anyway? John Paul was too old and needed to retire. This one won't ever outlive his predecessors accomplishments. Who is Peter the Roman?

This Pope does not have the Spirit of God within him and I to believe there is a evil about him.

It is so sad we lost the truly the Pope who walked with God, the one that is in place now, fakes it!
