Okay, here's the deal. Way back when I owned a different computer in which I handed down to my younger brother, I was given my dads. On my old one I bought the Dominator ATI Radeon 9550 AGP 128MB Graphics Accelerator of which I fell in love! Sadly when I switched to this (my dad's old) computer that has a super memory, it came with a ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 Series. Now I don't know much about this one, it has DirectX9.0 and all but it's graphics don't match the love of my old one. I was wondering since I make a lot of Sims 2 movies which of the two I'm better off with? Now I need someone to answer who knows something about graphic cards, because I don't want to uninstall it from mine and not be able to install it into my brothers. (Seeing how the Dominator came with a CD and not the already installed one of my dads) Thanks for any help you can give!

16 year olds DON'T know everything. Lol.

Most likely the video card on your current pc (dads) is using the integrated video card and therefor you cannot transfer yours to your brother.

You might be able to make the switch though if your brother has an integrated video card as well.

Heres what you need to do:

First check your motherboard and make sure it has an AGP slot (its usually brown), if it does then check your brothers computer and see if it has an integrated video card. You will know it does if there is a second VGA port near where the keyboard and mouse connect.

If both of those conditions are true, you can then remove the AGP card from your brother's pc, and connect his monitor to the integrated card. You will have to install some drivers for the integrated card in his operating system or else his graphics will be REALLY bad.

Once you got that finished, then all you have to do is install the agp card in your machine. You will have to install drivers for the AGP card on your machine as well.

good luck!

First off you need to find out if the computer with the xpress 200 has an agp 4/8x card. Next if the new computer does have it you can install it/have it installed into the slot. If you don't have the drivers for the 9550 card you can go to http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html and look up the drivers you need and install them accordingly. The card has to be installed first and will run immediately. However, the resolution and settings will not be correct until you install the appropriate driver.

lol the ATI Radeon 9550 AGP 128MB Graphics Accelerator is better because the other 1 is integrated and the ati is dedicated. u cannot uninstall it from his, because he needs a graphics card. u can get urself a dedicated graphics card.
