how long of a chain do u need 2 find a shiny pokemon

There is a rumor that states it has to be over 40+ for a shiny to at least appear.
There is another one that got a shiny ditto on his on a 2 chain.

the chance to find one is 1/8132, so its about 3000 to 6000.
