to all mail carriers or mail deliverers?

Ok so iam wondering, if you have a package and you have to deliver it. And when you go to the house and the name of the person's package is a girls name and the guy who says is his is a girl. Do you give it to them. Also do you ask for an i.d. or anything to prove that the package is theirs
