I have no experience but a great imagination. What steps do I have to take to get a book out there?

I woul take some writing courses. Read plenty of children's books. Pay particular attention to the age group you wish to write for. If you feel you are knowledgeable enough right now then contact some children's magazines' publishers and ask what type of material they are wanting. And write, write, write.

READ THIS. A children's book has a lot of pictures. If you can't illustrate, give up on your dream. Even Junie B. Jones got like ten illustrations a book. BUT, a Real chapter book that has like, more then a hundred pages needs persistence. 1. Learn the English vocabulary (what? do you know what promiscuous REALLY means?) 2. Grammer (talking, big deal. Look at Harry Potter). 3. When you send your book to a publisher, it gets dumped in a humungo pile. Wanna avoid reading traffic? Get an agent who will fight for your book.

wELL I would think about your charactor first.I am a writer. Make sure you understand that that charactor needs to be very important in the story and in the end it should have a lesson.I would think of the ending and climax and little details you want to thrw in to.Write about something you like becuase No tears in the writer no tears in the reader right. Make everyone understand clearly the setting and even make a picture of the setting and secret passage ways and all that about it.the main goal of the charactor needs to be right out there so everyone knows it without you actually saying it. Through my experiences I have found out that finding a beginning in a book I like is good and then adding what you would write not to get published or anything but just for ideas.Have fun and if you get bored with your writing then change it.the most impotant part of writing is give the charactor a break in between very bad situations before putting them together .Dont take a writing course it could change your writing style and you dont want that. Dont listent o the critism in your head It is impossible to make the perfect book but you can still get fans of your book.I suggest get the genre that you like most thus you can write your best about it. Its fun for me to write fantasy books you see.I think if you have an imagination like you say then it would be good for you too {just a suggestion}Good luck

To write any book you hope will be published, you need to find out all you can about the genre you wish to write. Writer's
Digest sells a number of books on how to write in different genres--childrens and young adult books being among the choices. I strongly urge you to find source material on writing in this area before you begin. Try the Internet to see if you can bring up Children's Writers. You may find a group you can join. Janet Lane Walters and I have a how-to book out for writers, but it doesn't deal specifically with writing for children, so it likely wouldn't be of any use to you, because children's writing is quite a bit different from writing for adults.

Go to this Google Search

I don't think it matters which communiversity you choose - but the on-line courses include a Writing For Children (or it might have another name). It's about 6 weeks long, and about 70-90 dollars (depending on the class), and you will get lots of information, from writing for different age groups, to the best ways to try to get published, as well as connect with others who are interested in writing for children. There isn't an age limit, either. Check it out.

Good luck.

Children like good story books with pictures. Think your head, write one and give the manuscript to a publisher. The publisher will discuss the terms with you and come out with a beautiful children book

First of all, make sure you have a good story. Make sure it's interesting and fitting for children of different ages; also make sure it makes sense. Then, make an outline or a frame for your story. Then write it! Make sure you have several people proof-read it. The next part is the trickiest: finding a publisher. But, if your story is good enough, you should be on your way to the Best Seller List.

First you are going to need to build up your credentials. Do this by writing for your local weekly newspaper, book clubs, or wherever else you could get published. Once you established credentials the publishing houses and agents are more willing to listen to you.

Well, Janet, what i would have to say is... just let your imagination go free, don't let it stay all inside, you don't need experience for imagination..... create something that you or no one else has done before, go wild... and your instincts will come to you.. i promise
