For positives, Im really suprised about ARods huge start, although I guess it should be expected of him, but he did have a down year last season. Another positive is the Brewers, they were the suprise team of the year, we'll just have to see if it holds up. And, being an Indians fan, one of our biggest suprises is Fausto Carmona. He blew countless saves last season, and I dont think alot of people believed in him, but they moved him to the starting rotation, and hes been awesome. Hes 10-4 with a 3.85 ERA, and the best is yet to come with this kid.
The negatives, well, theres alot more than positives. First off, the Yankees are sub .500, the incredibly talented White Sox are struggling to keep ahead of the Royals in the AL Central. These are two teams that could win their respective divisions, but nobody on each team is on the same page and they are struggling just to keep pace in the Wild Card races. Also, Barry Zito signed a mega-millions deal with the Giants, and hes doing terrible. He has no pitch confidence, and his run support has been for the most part acceptable. Barry, the other Barry stepped it up and made the All Star game, now you have to step it up. We also have another negative suprise, one that happened last night in the All Star game. Tony La Russa opted not to put in the best player on his Cardinals team, and likely the best player in the MLB, Albert Pujols, in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 outs and the bases loaded, and the NL was down by a single run. Instead, he let Aaron Rowand step up to the plate, who proceeded to fly out to right. Tony, if you have the best player in the MLB on your roster, at least let him play. Pujols didnt even get to play. Another negative suprise was Ryan Howard "defending" his title of Home Run Derby Champ. He only hit 3 out of the park and didnt even make it to the second round. Dont worry Ryan, youre still great.

Biggest surprises and postives
Brewers Indians and Mariners are doing outstanding. Prince Fielder killing the Ball and so is Ken Griffy JR, Frank Thomas hit 500 hr, Sammy Sossa hit his 600 HR, Barry Bonds HR chase, Best of all I think is Craig Biggio reaching 3K hits and you have to say A-Rod 31 homers in the first half. The rookie for the Stros Hunter Pence could win a a battle tittle as a rookie. The fan attendance at the ballpark is at all time high. Even with the steroids in the air. For me positive is seeing the Bronx Back Mountain (clemens and pettitte struggling in NY) after leaving Houston.
Biggest negative surprises
Yankees and Cardinals both not doing so well, Pujols Howard, Beltran and Berkman not hitting the ball very well. Bullpen for the Astros. The coach from the Mariners just quit. NL central being so bad I would thought the Astros and Cardinals would be fighting for the division like they have been doing for the past 11 years. Who would ever thought the Brewers would be in first place. National League loses another All Star game

dallas. the 2 games they played were winnable. the first one was because they played worse than the skins. they actually lost the the bears though. they had some huge mistakes on defense, but the bears won that game. but what people dont realize is that not only december are they bad, but in the 1st few weeks, they look a little shaky too. last year, they started 3-2 and probably should have been 2-3. minnisota wasnt going to be like last year. rice is out and their o line sucks along with the rest of their receiver core. favre had good throws and freak interceptions and peterson didnt help at the last few plays at the goal line getting stuffed at 4th and 1. plus, the vikings last year started with the lions and i think the rams. not really like this year against miami and the saints. the 49ers were bad week 1 but played great at the end last night. how many teams are likely going to beat the saints though? the panthers arent that bad. i just think that they just got outplayed. the bills arent that much of a shock, but theyre not bad. they still finnished 6-10. the browns are improved, but i dont think that they are that good. the rams are good this year, they just need more wide outs. only 4 are active. and we all know about the lions.

Personaly, the biggest surprise is in the NL center, the brewers are having a great season as they havent these last years. Also the cardinals and the astros arent having a season that nobody expected, they didnt play as they should being the current champs, so thats the biggest surprise for me.
