Newsweek magazine 1975 issue on "The Coming Ice Age". Just 32 years ago it was "The Earth Freezing Over" ? My question to the " GoreBAL WARMING" hysteria crowd is what action did you take to stop "The Coming Ice Age" in 1975 ? Stopping Gorebal Warming should be a cinch for you to solve ? All you have to do is stop what you did to stop "The Coming Ice Age" in 1975 , the fact is , if you stopped "The Coming Ice Age" with whatever method you used to heat the earth back up to prevent "The Coming Ice Age", all you have to do is stop heating the earth up , because evidently the hysteria is over and done on "The Coming Ice Age " ; and you the "Gorebal Warming" crowd are actually the culprits of creating the "Gorebal Warming Crisis" , because you stopped The Coming Ice Age " ??

Weather varies a bit more than many people expect. We're used to the weather patterns we remember, but, in terms of geological times and climate change, a human lifetime is startlingly brief. Where I live, it's snowed twice in my entire life, and only to the point of snow sitting on the ground once, when I was a kid. Anyone from around here who's much younger than me would be really shocked if they woke up one winter morning to see snow on the ground. I wouldn't be, because I know it can happen, however infrequent it might be.

I just finished watching a special on the History Channel about "rogue waves": Sudden, unpredicted waves exceeding 90 feet, swamping ships at sea and off-shore drilling stations built to withstand most waves of 40 to 50 feet. Over 80 men lost their lives on a station built in the North Sea that was overwhelmed by one of these "rogue waves". According to the History Channel, such waves have occurred throughout recorded history. If this phenomena has anything to do with weather, I would that was pretty "freaky", and was happening long before Al Gore was even born!

As I understand global warming, this has to do with climate changes that Al Gore is attempting to attribute to actions taken by people. Mr. Gore has found a cause, and is going to "ride that horse" as far as he can.

I am not really worried about "global warming". I AM concerned about having enough money to get myself to work, either by car, bus, train, bicycle, etc., and being able to pay my gas/electric bill to cook for my family and keep them comfortably heated and cooled during the year, providing adequate housing for them, clothing, and paying for their education.

Personally, I think Al Gore is a "doofus", exhibiting his supreme stupidity.

Your assertion that Al Gore made up global warming doesn't pass minimal credibility tests. He has nothing to gain from making this up! On the contrary, the neocon slime machine is on him Big Time. The rich business leaders and owners who profit from nearly non-existent pollution laws know they can move anywhere in the world when the doodie hits while people like you get to stay and suffer. Best wishes for you and your children in the world to come.

The liberal, pinko, left-wing National Geographic has an article you should read, assuming you know how. In the June, 2007 issue, Tim Appenzeller writes: "Ice sheets covering Greenland and West Antartica are shrinking enexpectedly fast, and the outlet glaciers that carry inland ice into the sea are accelerating."

This is, of course, God's punishment for gay marriage.

Or it's Al Gore's fault.

I know that the first thirty years of my life, the Winters were much the same. The last twenty they've been increasingly bizarre... and very different from what they used to be.

That coupled with very odd weather around the world, especially in climates with 4 distinct seasons, convinces me that global warming is highly likely.

Not convinced either way on global warming...that being said it is only logical that if there are ways to reduce the amount of crap we pump into the atmosphere, we should do them. People used to think the oceans were so vast we dump sewage and trash into them forever too. It's totally illogical to allow your hate of Al Gore (not a fan of his either) to cloud your common sense when it comes to poluting the air you breathe

We also have to look at the report from NASA that states all of the planets have increased in temp. This means the sun is getting hotter, or more solar flares which hapens in cycles.

No, there have been stronger hurricanes than Katrina in the past, and hotter days. What I would like to know is, how does Al Gore know what the temperature was thousands of years ago?
