On a scale of 1-100, do you accept yourself, do you accept others and do you accept the world as it exists?

Do you believe that people tend to accept reality, or distance themselves from it?

Zent: to clarify, acceptance would be that which we no longer wish, choose or desire to change.

For example, I accept that some people like me. I accept that some people dislike me. The desire to change people's opinion of me, therefore, vanishes.

Bick -- I accept all of those things. And I don't feel an obligation to change them or change others.

When the racist, for example, decides to change, then they will change. Until then, that is who they are. That is their behaviour.

I think I am about an 80. I try to accept reality. I definitely accept myself. I accept others openly. I think most people in the universe are accepting of others. Americans are very shallow and narrow-minded.

Candi that's bs, because if you are a 90% you would probably have to accept the people who aren't accepting. That is something that you didn't imply. You implied that you only accept people who are like you, and there aren't many.

I would say straight up I'm a 50%. I wish there was a lot different about the world and I know I can't change it but that's something I find hard to accept. I also can be judgmental (obviously), but straight up why is everyone marking themelves so high? I haven't met one person who is that accepting. I don't accept rascism. i don;t accpet genocide in Africa (or anywhere). I don't accept terrorism. I don't accept the dumbing down of our nation. I don;t accept the flaunting of our rights by our president. I don't accept the invasion of my privacy. I don't accept murder. I don't accept deceit. I don't accept the poor treatment of animals. I don't accept corprate tycoons profiting from the opressed and disenfranchised. I don't accept creditors. I don't accept a lot of things. Nor do I think I should. However I think I accept other things. Therefore I am 50/50

I accept 100 % of the good in me and in the world as it is. I do not accept the faults and short comings of my self or the world, if I were it would be like not wanting to better these areas. I understand I and the world may not be perfect that does not mean I have to just accept that. If the people of the world would share this stance we would be better off because we may have more drive to make a difference. As for the reality, you can never escape it. You can escape someone else's reality but never your own. It will always be there as long your conscious of your self.

As far as accepting others, I think I'm at about 85 and trying to be better at it. I have finally accepted myself 95% (it falters sometimes) after years of fighting my fears, my faults, my shortcomings. My biggest problem is accepting things that happen to me that are out of my control. Thats at maybe a 40%. I believe that most people distance themselves from reality at all costs. Ex: television to drugs to whatever else you can think of. What's funny though is that the further these people think they're getting from reality, the further entrenched they actually are.

id have to say im 90% accepting of everything. i accept those who respect themselves and others, and who try to understand the world and its people. i know that i dont know everything, who am i to not accept something just because it is foreign to me? to accept things as they truly are, is to grow and expend your horizons, acceptance is love. and its the only way we'll ever know peace.
