...KO'd. McCain actually KO'd himself by squandering 20 million in the first quarter, a poor immigration stance that cost him critical support &, well, a host of other issues. It's a sad end to an American hero, at least in a lot of peoples eyes. He should have got "gettin" while the "gettin" was good! Any body betting on the next candidate to hit the canvas? Edwards??? Ron Paul was not highly rated as to go the distance but shot up into being a major contender after he "rope a doped" a stunned Giuliani in their debate. Clinton seemed strong but is picking up interference from with in her party. Romney seems "untouchable" SO FAR regarding scandals despite looking to be a Bush clone. So...who do you see as the next victim?

The moneymakers will survive. It's too early to tell. You lose the base you lose the nomination. The front runners will stick close to home.

McCain started his spiral many years ago with McCain/Feingold, and more recently with the gang of 14. Can you imagine Hillary Clinton voting with Republicans, and having photo ops with Tom DeLay? McCain is his own worst enemy. Pathetic.

Don't count Senator McCain out just yet. They did the same things to Reagan and Kerry and they survived. Only count him out when he either
a) has crappy fundraising for the next 2 quarters or
b) he loses big time in Iowa and New Hampshire
