The fan's have a relay switch. This is actually the most common thing to go out. Did you check the fan relay?

Since you didn't give make or model vehcile, the fan relay is typically located in a fuse box that is near the battery. (At least in the majority of vehicles). Typically it's cubical in shape and has 4 prongs connected into the fuse box.

Dear Fanned-

In a vehicle's cooling system the fans are controlled by thermal switches. If these switches are bad, then they cannot close the circuit to allow the fans to operate.

I would strongly recommend that you have a cooling system diagnostic done on your vehicle. I will just give you a run-down on the things it could be.

Fuses or fuseable links
Burned out fan motors
Malfunctioning Thermal Switches
Malfunctioning Temprature Sending Units
Burned out Fan Motor Relay
Bad Ground Circuit
Bad Postitive Circuit

These are just a few problems that could be the issue. To locate and pinpoint the issue and correct it, you really need to head to a shop and let them have a good look.

I hope that helps you out!

The fan isn't coming on, most likely, because of the temperature sensor or the switch.

The a/c compressor is because it is low on refrigerant.

Take it to the proper technician. If we could do everything at home by ourselves all this service stations would starve to death.
