If I have verizon wireless and an unlimited texting service plan will I get extra charges for texts sent from Canada (Montreal area) to the US?

Yes you will... your unlimited plan does not cover Canada. You will be charged .25 cents for each txt sent and received. Also, if you make a call or receive a call, you will be charged .69 cents per minute, plus toll charges that Canada charges.

Yes, when I went to Canada last year it was on roaming the whole time. And Verizon on the commercials shows only the united states.

only if you are roaming
call VZ first and disucss your location
they have a map of areas with network and extended network.
you will then know in advance of possible charges.
Toranto for example is digital and not extra
other areas charges.
