Theres this spider in my basement and I swear he's over one year old. He's not the biggest spider I seen but its the same web and its getting thicker by the month. I fed him a few times off and on...can this really be the same spider?

In my house they live about 3 seconds. I am terrified of spiders and kill them when they enter my home. Outside is their natural habitat and I don't do anything to harm them outside, but inside is my space!
I had one spider spin its web between the posts of my front porch for weeks. It took the old web down and put up a new one each day. This thing was huge! It could have eaten a bird if it flew into the web. After about 3 weeks it started to move down to other posts and finally moved to the neighbor's house. The neighbors killed it. I don't know how long it would have lived.

I had the same spider in my house for about 2 years before a bigger spider came along and ate him. I assume he ate him anyway, he had this gloating look.
