This is a country of individuals.
Individuals can be for or against anything they want.
You have to think for yourself. Nobody else can do it for you.

Yes to both. Not that it'd be easy...
You can differ with your fellows on one or two issues an still be counted as a conservative or liberal. A liberal can be against gay marriage, say, but still be a liberal, or a conservative can be pro-abortion and still be conservative.
Iraq is, in the Conservative view, only one battle in the War on Terror, and perhaps a badly-chosen or badly executed one. You could be against it, or object to it's handling, and still be conservative.
Though there are a number of liberal positions that can be interpreted as anti-American, there are probably enough that aren't that you could remain liberal while being staunchly pro-American. Might be a bit more of a stretch than being an anti-Iraq-War conservative, though, just because there are more issues involved.

I really think most conservatives are not backing the war but are instead against retreating from a war and all the extremely negative results that would entail. Since modern liberals are Marxist and Marxism is counter to the USA Constitution, liberals are by definition anti-Constitutional. However, they see that as being pro-America since, to them, America cannot be a "good" nation unless it is completely socialist. So I suppose I am saying in a way, yes and yes.

You are either with Bush/Cheney
or you are
anti-American
anti-Patriotic
Part of the problem
evil of axis
racist
--------- fill in the blank
Only the great and powerful Bush/Cheney know what's best for us.
Americans are suppose to shut up and not challenge them
If you are a Conservative and against the Iraq War you are then labeled a Coward by minions of Bush
I hope America will wake up soon
Wasn't there something similar in our past called
mccarthyism ?
I think we are living under
Bushyism

If you're a Conservative, and you're against the Iraq war? Then you are slipping from the true Coservative platform!!
"If you're a Liberal can you be pro America?"
Let me put it this way - Liberals, say 60 years ago, were the true definition of what Liberal should be. There's RIGHT liberal and a WRONG Liberal!
Here's how I can tell the difference in the Liberals of 60 years ago and todays -
Liberals back then wanted bible ethics Liberally, They believed in Freedom of Speech, They cared for Life, They believed in the Union of Marriage as One man and One Woman, They wanted all that was good applied Liberally!!
They good Liberal thoughts and Actions!
Now, as for Today's Liberals, Well, They are a totally DIFFERENT matter ---
In example, Their Agenda includes -- the slaughter of innocent unborn children, (Abortion), the operative word is Infanticide!
The Liberals of today, bow to every whim of the ACLU, Take back America, The Atheistic Society, and other, Socialist Communist organizations.
The LIberals of today, coincide with the organizations I've mentioned, to help further their Evil agenda, and re-write the Constitution and Bill of Rights, to twist into something that is convenient for THEM!! In complete and utter DISREGARD for the WILL OF THE PEOPLE!!
THEY HAVE NO DESIRE FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS!!
Instead of Democracy, Liberals want ANARCHY, DEPRESSION, and OPPRESSION, and TRYANNY!!!
Liberals are the party of EVIL intentioned Ideals!!
Now, Yes, Liberals could be pro America, But will they ever, Give up their Evil agenda, and rule in favor of America?
Your guess is as good as mine, but I would'nt stake my life on it, I prefer to stick with the party that represents the best intentions and well being for America, Conservatives!!
JR
P.S.
Downahiddy,
You've been over at blogs for bush have'nt you?
Are you keefer?

Certainly we tend to call those 'traitors' and 'patriots' respectively. A true liberal believes in LIBERTY and thus would be overjoyed at the democratic government now in place in Iraq. And unfortunately a conservative can be turned especially with all the media bull$#it assaulting their basically pro-american ideas.

From a democrat who supports the war, HECK YES!
Patriotic protest is about as American as you can get.
The seditious nonsense you see, name-calling, spreading unfounded rumors, treating our elected officials as "guilty until proved innocent" is NOT patriotic. Just the opposite.
I fought them when they did it to Former President Clinton. I do it when I see them do it to Former First Lady and Senator Clinton.
Why would a man with integrity sit by and watch it be done to President Bush?
At the same time, when I see a patriot, someone who puts our country FIRST, NOT their own ideology, I cheer them on. There are a couple of them on this site that considering my posts, you would never think I email and talk to them in a friendly manner. I do, because I am talking to patriots who disagree with my ideas on how to help America. We still see patriots when we look at each other.
Conservative against the war? I know of a few of those, too. Some are not worthy of the first letter in the world Patriot.
Some I would fight back to back with, any time.
Time for the patriots, on either side to stand together against all this Anti-America nonsense.
Hating your country is no longer "cool", kids.
Expect both sides to answer you.

"professional-existence+Peace= Democracy" If merely it have been that straightforward... to no longer placed too super of a element on it, there's an excellent difference between killing an harmless, unborn new child and combating an enemy whose prevalent objective is our finished annihilation. the two won't be able to be in comparison somewhat. Our enemy does not care if we are crimson or blue, they are going to wipe us all off the map given the prospect. Even people who're welcoming the terrorists with open arms with the aid of attempting so desperately to soothe our enemy whilst crippling our national protection and protection tension. maximum conservatives are not apprehensive of a combat--we surely desire to make our united states of america safer. How do the "Peace guy" and "Make love, no longer conflict" mentalities of the 60's safeguard our super united states of america? this is no longer peace, this is avoidance. P.S. surprising reaction, LorenzoAE! thank you for being so pronounced, elloquent, and common.

Yes, and Yes. Ron Paul, conservative running for president is against the war in Iraq. There are others who are against the war as well.
Most liberals are Pro-America. They're just anti what this administration and republican party have been doing for the past 6 years.

Yes, many conservatives are against the war. Also, being against the war doesn't mean that you are not "pro-America".

Yes to both. Being pro-america MEANS being against this stupid war. It means voting for competent leadership for our military afer a disappointing result from the '04 election. It means ensuring that our leaders are honest and up front in their dealings- unafraid and able to justify their actions to Congress, the Supreme Court, or the American People. It means holding those accountable who would tarnish our freedoms. Mostly it means not being afraid of terrorists- because that is doing their work for them.
