Should children be allowed to pass out fliers expressing their freedom of religion in public schools? Why or why not? Remember that, if Christians have the right, everyone else does too.

Does a school endorse any particular religion by allowing students to distribute their own fliers about it? Why or why not?

What impact do you think fliers conveying a religious message would have when compared to other forms of religious expression like clothing or jewelry? More, less, or the same? How?

I'm not in favor of any kind of religous proselytizing at school, Christian or otherwise. Kids go to school to learn, not to teach.

There is insufficient time while at school to focus on the reason for being there--to get an education according to the dictates of the secular education system. The US is in last place in developed countries in K-12 education, which means our kids come out of school dumber than anybody else's.

We have to give up the complacency that the US will always be the richest, most advanced nation in the world. The kids you want to have reading flyers won't be able to read, write or cipher if things keep going the way they are going now, so anything you do to make it worse (like creating religious information distractions) will just make the decline of our country go even faster.

Think about this: I attended Catholic schools, which are RUN by a religous group, and religion was limited to the class period assigned to it. We did not have flyers, information, or anything else about it at any other time. In fact, jewelry or symbols were FORBIDDEN on our uniforms, even Catholic ones. Why? The people in charge recognized how difficult and serious the process of creating well-educated citizens really is, and they made sure each of us was competitive in the marketplace of ideas and money, as intelligence is a gift not to be wasted.

I have a built-in negative attitude about ANYTHING going on at school except what is supposed to be happening there. Anything. Students should respect themselves and each other by wearing uniforms, no jewelry, no attention-getting hairdos, no flyers, no nothing.

1) yes , why not ? but I don't think students are very interested in religion so .... no big deal
2) er... it endorse a religion only if allows the distribution of only one religion fliers. But... in the US and Europe , christian fliers will be more and ..... less hated . Do U imagine a normal American boy reading a Arab flier ? I don't. And more Christian's in a school means more christian fliers in that school
3) totally less. a flier isn't something serious....is just a piece of paper. i get fliers from pubs and clubs at my high school every day , do U think I give a f**k ?

I would prefer to teach my children about our faith. And to be totally honest if it was allowed for 1 it would have to be allowed for all. I do think kids are easily brainwashed and manipulated and I would prefer myself to teach them about all religions rather then having other children doing it. I think it should be ok however for a child to speak openly about their faith if the need is there. I have a friend whos son was in a debate type class this past year and alot of times the kid was on his own side of the classroom as a Christian. Luckily it was allowed at his school for him to express his opinion. It is not always the case. I do think it could cause some trouble if all religions were allowed to do this during the time they should be learning about the 3 R's. I think violence could occur in some cases because of religion. I do also feel however that children should be exempt from certain aspects of education that go against their beliefs.

religion should be kept out of schools. a school is where you send kids to get an education and prepare them for the real world. at our schools they took out prayer time just like they should have. we don't have all one religion at school so the fliers should stay out. to much controversy over what "you believe and what "i believe that is a place for church or an outside meeting place. No, schools dont and shouldnt endorse any particular religion. more or less i think that we have a bigger problem with the dress codes at school than we have religion. i mean my family and i go to church but we keep pur beliefs toour self and out of school its just they way it should be. some schools now cant have christmas parties due do some kids belief i think that is out of respect and not expressing. plus the cost

I send my daughter to a public school because although we are Christian people, if I wanted her to practise a particular denomination eg; Catholicism, Muslim etc, I would send her to an appropriate school that is solely based on that religion.
I do not agree that any Religion should be canvassed, especially to young impressionable children, the peer pressure would probably have a lot of children making decisions that later in life may regret.
I agree that Religion has it's place in schools but not public.

Public domain. That's the image your statement presents. A free for all, public school children have no say which would be protected. Community has lost it's identity along with their children who attend the public school. children's choice to share anything but their faith while on school property. but the children are not school property. though many schools treat them as such. teachers and other faculty members have violated children in many ways and this is the way they are punished? I was still a young child in school when one voice rose up and took the reading of the Bible out of my daily education. One Voice from one person, I can not trust any governing body who would and does allow one voice to harm the education of the children the way my life was harmed. i can not forgive nor forget that time when evil was allowed into our schools.

Yes.

It is the duty of everyone who believes in a religion to share those beliefs with others...schools should not have the right to kick God out of schools.

As long as the sharing does not get in the way of learning, it is fine with me.

Edit: As long as that religion does not involve hatred and killing and violence among different religious groups, it should be allowed.

But if the religion provokes violence and hatred, they should not be allowed.

"ought to little ones be allowed to bypass out fliers expressing their freedom of religion in public faculties? Why or why no longer? remember that, if Christians have the suitable, anybody else does too." Is it a public grade college? if so, no. college (rather) isn't an open communicate board for communicate. Its a getting to grasp environment. to no longer point out, from a janitoral point of view, all the littering. "Does a school advise any particular faith with the aid of allowing scholars to distribute their own fliers approximately it? Why or why no longer?" with the aid of allowing scholars to distribute fliers approximately particular religions, definite, they're endorsing. If little ones are doing it below their noses, they do no longer look to be endorsing. "What result do you think of fliers conveying a non secular message could have while placed next to different forms of religious expression like outfits or rings? extra, much less, or a similar?" Fliers are recruitment equipment, actively distracting scholars from getting to grasp. Jewelery, or some forms of outfits are passive forms of non-public expression, wherein little attempt at recruitment is made. If the jewlery or outfits will become too distracting, nevertheless, it may be hidden, coated, or bumped off. If I had young ones, i could be sending them to college to benefit, to no longer be fodder for church recruitment. How?

In a public school there should be nothing that has to do with religion.

That means the administration and the students.

All of it should be kept out of public schools, just because they should be focusing on education not how all of them are different because of their religions.
