I have 1.5 gal aquarium with a small goldfish and a very small snail. I know goldfish requires a big tank and grows accordingly, but I can only have a small aquarium at this poin. I was wondering if I could add one more fish so that the goldfish does not get lonely (snail is not much fun). What would you recommend or which fish?
Thanks in advance,
Buka

no, no, no and no
Get at least a 20 gallon tank for your goldfish, it won't survive in that small tank

If you're looking for other fish, get EITHER a couple of neon tetras, zebra danios or balloon mollies

Hope that helps
Good luck

Unfortunately you cannot add any more fish to this tank. And in fact, as you know the tank is already too small for a goldfish.

I recommend that you take the goldfish back to the store and get some fish that stay smaller such as some small tetra's, danios, or white clouds.

Please do not listen to the people that say you can have 1" per gallon of water. This is simply not true and only works or a very small subset of fish. There is no magic rule on stocking a tank, it depends too much on the specific fish you have in your tank.

You should consider a bigger tank and get a couple more goldfish. I have many fish and they love having other fish to swim with they are always playing together. I tell people having fish in a small tank and trying to overcrowd them is like making you live in a small closet with 2-3 other people. Would you be happy? You will be pleased at the results if you get at least a 10 gallon tank and at least one more goldfish.

You should have one inch of fish per one gallon of tank. I would say with the goldfish and snail you are where you should be. The fish will be fine alone with the snail. Maybe get a small "toy" for the tank. Have you thought about getting a 5 gallon tank? They are not that much bigger as far as how much space they take up on a table but yet give you more room for fish. Good luck!

properly you ought to maintain a pair of dwarf cichlids. make particular they're small ones and you ought to luckily save a million pair yet it is approximately it. Dwarf cichlids you have gotten are kribensis, blue rams and a lot of others. Kribs(kribensis) will breed like loopy in the event that they like one yet another. it may take a whilst to discover a pair that gets on so be arranged for some fatilities. make particular for the two those species you have a heater and clear out. To cause them to breed have numerous organic looking caves and genuine flowers. My advice is that there are far extra cool freshwater fish than human beings think of and once you're a newbie do no longer decide for a saltwater aquarium, you ought to paintings your way up. additionally in the adventure that your going to get 15gallon you may besides decide for a 20gallon which ability you have gotten a pair of dwarf cichlids and a school of danios or something. those danios will make your cichlids be much less shy. solid success Oh properly in the adventure that your no longer a begginer definatly decide for a marine tank. they may be difficult yet they're surprising. Get fire gobbies, they're unwell looking .

Right now that tank is full. By small you really meant small, huh? I mean, a one gallon is smaller than my mousepad...buy a ten gallon. They aren't that bigger and still cheap and easy to care for.

A good rule of thumb on standard aquariums is for freshwater ever 1 gallon will allow for 1 inch of fish. So if I have a 10 gallon, I can either have one 10" fish or five 2" fish and so on. For saltwater it is every 4 gallons to one inch of fish.

But if your aquarium is of a different or strange design than the surface area is what counts on how much fish you can keep.

The size of the fish is an important factor, generally you are suposed to have one 1.5 inch fish per gallon, but I find that if you keep the tank clean you can have more. If you take care of the tank I would bet one more wouldn't be a problem, but I wouldn't go more than that.
