If the report they sent out today is true. al-quaida is strong as they have been since 911. If that is the case then we have made no progress since the war began why in the world are we still there. I say lets get out cut our losses and lets take a different approach to taking out al-qaida. George bush Is a trigger happy nut. Usa has the capability to wipe this problem out but they are not doing it the right way. We should not be there. There will be no end to this war till we kill every one on them. I hate war, Im against it but if were going to do this why not drop a hydrogen a-bomb and get it over with. There are two many innocent people over there getting caught up in this and we should not be there. There is no way to win they just admitted today that we have been at war with them for years and there stronger today than ever. whey are we there then?

They are stronger because GWB is a recruiting poster boy for their cause. For every one that is killed, 3 are created.
You can't use military to fight a theological war.

"ritefielder14" is an idiot. Just how are a bunch of camel humping towel heads going to "OVERRUN" the United States? Hmmmm? You bought that White House report hook, line, and sinker didn't you? Typical Bushie.... Bet King George can't answer your question about why we're still there either. Billions of dollars spent and over 3500 American soldiers lives wasted. *sigh*

So do you just want to give up the fight?

We have to try to stop these attacks. If we don't try, we will be over-run.

"We have seen promising indicators since the President announced the new strategy in January. While al Qaeda and other extremists have conducted a counter-surge resulting in numerous horrific mass-casualty terrorist attacks, and while it is too early to declare the surge a success or failure, we have seen:

* A substantial drop in sectarian murders in Baghdad since January
* Arms caches found at more than three times the rate of a year ago
* Tribal sheiks in Anbar and other provinces cooperating with Iraqi and American forces against al Qaeda
* Attacks in Anbar at a two-year low
* Total car bombings and suicide attacks down in May and June
* The building of “joint security stations,” where many Iraqis are coming with information on where terrorists are hiding
* Signs of normalcy in Baghdad like professional soccer leagues, amusement parks, and vibrant markets.
* Recruiting for Iraqi police forces drawing thousands of candidates
* Young Sunnis signing up for the army and police
* More Shia rejecting militias"

We have done so much good in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since 9/11, America has not had another terrorist attack on its soil.

If we lose or quit this fight, i'm afraid that America will fall...because the terrorists will stop at nothing to see our demise.

tommy44432: those so called 'towel heads' sure had us rethinking our safety on 9/11...they killed over 3,000 people in less than an hour...I think that they are capable of defeating America...that is if we quit this war...which we will not.

You can't just drop a nuclear bomb everywhere Al-Quaida is. They are spread out into many different countries.

Who cares if other people hate America. America should take care of itself first and not worry about what other countries think.

We would definitely be safer if people in America stopped complaining about their Civil liberties being lost. You can't have a "safe" society unless you are willing to sacrifice some things.

We've spent billions to help the weapons industry, which in turn helps the economy, which in turn helps the average citizen. You know...the lie of trickle down economics.

Safer today...you've got to be kidding me. Not only does the Muslim world hate us....the whole world hates us (with the exception of Israel...of course)

So you want to bomb America do you?
Most Americans who die a violent death are murdered by their fellow citizens not Al Qaeda.
Check the numbers.
