Wow good question. I was listening to "Come and Talk to Me" the other day and was thinking "damn today's R&B sucks" (you heard JE's remake of this song?? it's horrendous). Anyways...Tony Toni Tone and Boyz 2 Men are the only ones that come close, but I think Jodeci rules that era (although Dalvin and Devante aren't very good vocalists, they were great producers/song writers). Shai, Mint Condition, 112, Silk, Hi-Five, Troop, Lo-Key?, Rude Boys, II D Extreme, UNV...all had some classics, but Jodeci had hit after hit after hit...and all filled with passion and soul.

Troop, 112, Mint Condition, Tony, Toni, Tone, many that were way better than Jodeci.
