Who would win in a fight. Ninjas or Vikings?

Question

Viking would school ninjas. They are like brutal PCP addicts. Sure a lot of vikings would die, but in the end they would prevail. What do you say?

Remember that vikings do fight in groups and wear armor. Throwing stars and blow guns wont do anything against the viking shields. They need to get in close with swords to even begin to inflict damage on the vikings. This is good though keep the answers (more like opinions) coming! =)

Depends on the situation.

If it was a pitched battle, the vikings would probably win. Since ninjas are nothing but glorified spies or assasins, when hit face to face, the vikings would probably decimate the ninja horde.

They would be like laughing off all the tiny pin pricks damage from shurikens and blow darts. With mead in their blood, and with their berserker rage, the ninjas would be so overwhelmed that they would just retreat.

However, if the ninjas were to strike at night or without any declaration, i think they would finish off all the drunken idiots before the realised anything

Vikings, the Ninjas weaponry at the time of the Vikings was long since outdates, the Ninjas had no armor either. And be realistic, Ninjas didnt flip around and pull Matrix moves, they were like 'Navy Seals'. Vikings are too heavily armored to take the damage, and not all vikings are slow, alot were very skilled and highly trained.

It would depend upon the situation: one on one a ninja would probably win do to speed, but if the viking was able to parry the viking would win do to greater strength and the fact that most Japanese swords are meant for a one strike kill, because they're not strong; so it would have no chance against a European blade.

Vikings would have an advantage in group conflict since ninjas are assassins and don't have much group training and its very difficult to hide groups of people

Considering that the Ninja were wiped out by the (pre-)Shogunate and their Samurai http://www.shaolin-society.co.uk/shaolin_legacy/history.php?history=10 , I would hazard a guess that, in most situations, the Vikings would also win. Of course, with equal numbers and on Ninja home soil, the Vikings would almost certainly lose. In Japan, the advantages of secrecy and home-ground was no match for the strength of the Daimyo's army.

Ninjas...because they have ninja stars and all they have to do is go back in a safe distance and keep throwing them at the vikings. And as the vikings get closer all the ninjas have to do is run back more and throw more at them. And if this situation is during the night the ninjas have an advantage because there the masters of dark strategies and dark surroundings...

vikings. their chainmaille was the best in the world, their pattern welded swords and war axes would chop a katana in half, their helmets, being made of iron, were better than the leather/lacquer/silk things a ninja might wear.
sure, ninjas have caltrops and smoke grenades, but vikings wear boots, and have powerful lungs, not to mention the psychedelic mushrooms and big powerful spears.

vikings were trained from childhood in the ways of war, the entire population worked to supply/equip/refresh the viking war machine, many of their adversaries believed them immortal, because of their brutal tactics and amazing strength.

First off you have to know that Ninjas were trained assassins and they were trained to operate on a one on one basis, And under those circumstances the ninjas would wipe a viking butt... Also a ninja was never trained to attack in masses.. And under a free for all basis I believe that viking would die in bunches.. I know that some ninjas would be killed but the vikings would be wiped out.... Just because the vikings could not stand up to the style of fighting that the ninjas possessed... And lest not forget woman ninjas are trained killer also.. The viking would be wiped out to the last man..... And never know what hit them..................................................

You underestimate the Norse/Viking's intellegience. via all money owed they have been easily notably intelligent. Ninjas would win for this reason. Ninjas are faster and would land more blows than vikings because they're too slow.
