Each person will answer this differently, depending on your spiritual belief. For me personally, I believe that God has a basic destiny plan for us. If you look at some ways a person's life terminates you realize that it was just how it was supposed to be. If you live a good life, following the laws given to us by God, your destiny plan will be fulfilled, if you live a reckless life, you will alter your plan, and possibly destroy your life prematurely, and often divert someone elses.

I know you are probably still confused, but if you have a spiritual belief, just life your life as best you can, thinking before you act, and do not dwell on your life's destined path.

I don't believe that everyone has a specific destiny waiting for them. I do believe that everyone has his or her own first best destiny. I think that everything happens for a reason. SOmetimes it's hard to figure out that reason right away but eventually it becomes clear. I think that how we react to everything that happens to us has a purpose. Eventually we latch onto one of our destinys and everything moves in that direction. It's like being a boat in river. The river is flowing in one direction. You can choose to fight the flow if you would like but you will get tired. If you choose instead to go with the flow you are not giving up personal choice. You still have a means by which to stear This means you can choose streams and channels all leading to someplace different.

controlling me? No. More like guiding me, to be the best person I can be and live the best life that I can be, to make the world a better place to live in, for all of us. And yes, I do believe I have a certain destiny to fulfill, but I don't feel I'm forced to do it.

Well a destiny is a usual thing so yes the world has a destiny. I would say there are controlling forces making us do things because it is easy to make someone do stupid things so that happens and it is easy to get help or help someone so that happens also.

From my experience, I can say that coincidences don`t exist, and accidents as well as pseudo miracles happen for a reason! This is all part of an invisible mechanism, and most of the actions we are doing, cannot really be seen as influencing such huge and invisible mechanism! But somehow, we can feel it sometimes, that we are guided toward achieving certain things.
My guess is that the whole universe work as a giant gears system, and everything enter in relations in those universe constituents, and humans, are part of this system. And since matter is energy, and energy is unique in itself, I guess, that such system is a closed one, which means that he is working toward an ultimate purpose, and NOTHING can change this purpose!!

I believe in a secular notion of Karma which is that people have the power to control their own destiny but the way they behave affects the choices they make and the possibilities that life presents them.

I don't believe in destiny, I believe if you want something bad enough everyone has the opportunity to work hard to make there own destiny, or set back and hope something great will happen to you. Which do you think would work out better

I think we come here with lessons to learn. I do not believe that we have no hand in our destiny though. We are given choices throughout life. Those choices affect our lives and get us to the lessons we were sent here to learn. But I also think that we are "God-like" and infinite. Therefore, the lessons to be learned are infinite as well. There is no "right" path. All are important.

Uhh... I believe the choices we make will lead us to a certain path in life, but I don't believe things are predetermined or destined. Did you give me a thumbs down...? No, we make our own destiny, nothing is controlling us.

Yes and no. I believe there is a right and wrong path in life for each person. Because we have free will and are not robots, we can either choose to take the correct path for us or we can choose the wrong path for us. It is ultimately our decision.

EDIT: I believe there is a superior being, but I don't believe that being controls us. Like I said, I believe we all have free will...if something were controlling us, then we would all simply be puppets or robots.
