Bush told us that Al Qaeda had been severely crippled. He also is telling us that Iraq is improving. Can Bush be believed by ANYONE now? Is he putting us at risk by not telling the truth?

.not a chance, Bush has to lie to keep up the deals Cheney made with the big oil companies about the division of Iraq ( before 9/11). If it is not done big oil will blow open the story. Al- Qaeda is a concept, a movement, and can't be destroyed, just like a war on terror is impossible, terror is an emotion, which anyone can experience, and terrorism is a tactic, which anyone can employ, one can be a law abiding citizen one day and then someone attacks your country and you employ terroristic tactics to retaliate. So no you can't believe him, and yes he is putting you at risk. But better you than us.

Yourself? You at home in America? You're fine. What if Bush were to say "Al Qaeda is at full stength and an inland attack in the USA is expected."?

It would only cause unnecessary havoc amongst the public, how could it change anything for the better? You wouldn't be at any less risk. You cannot tell where they would strike.

Of course it would be ridiculous to totally believe anything a government says. They are trying to keep their country's people with them, remember? But that is how it has been since the begginning. Since a chief in a cave probably once said to his tribe "No, Ug accidently fell off the cliff, see?"

You can only watch and vote against him next election.

what's astonishing is the responses that state that the troops are closest to the placement and comprehend extra advantageous than we do back abode on the subject of Saddam's involvement in 9/11. Oy vey. the final troop on the floor isn't able to comprehend anymore than he's pronounced with regard to the political project in Iraq. Patrolling Baghdad does not provide them any particular perception into 9/11. On ideal of that, George Bush has reported extra advantageous than as quickly as that Saddam became into no longer in touch.

Al Qaeda is different now than it was pre-9/11, less centralized, mainly. How 'strong' it is can't easily be assessed. But, organizations like that can keep going as long as there is support from thier cause in the broader population that harbors them. And, nothing has been done to errode that support.

The question you ask is speculative. Iraq may have helped us more or hurt us more with respect to al-Qaeda. There is no way to turn back the clock and find out what happened if we didn't go in. What's done is done.

What is important is what do we do now. By al-Qaeda's own admission, Iraq is the centerpiece of the jihad. They want to form a caliphate there. Maybe we should stay the course, or maybe we should redeploy...but we'd better figure it out soon.

Nothing that comes out of Bush's mouth even closely resembles the truth!

Since they put this in the paper " "Al-Qaida better positioned to strike the West." so you think they will take that anymore seriously than they did the last one they got well before 9/11 and ignored??

Bush doesn't know. He's not a deep thinker.

In truth, Al-Queda has gotten back to pre-9/11 operational capacity as verified by an intelligence official today.

So, to answer your question, Bush is putting us at risk by continually diminishing the integrity of the office of President.

I don't trust him anymore, and he has only himself to blame.

when will this inane debate stop.
if a person can not see that the executive branch was infiltrated by the military industrial complex then they fall in to three groups:
1) blinded by bias
2)blinded by fear
3)stupid
think about halliburton, kbr, big oil, PNAC, the carlyle group. then think about a "hundred year war" as cheney put it.
how nice for them.
anyhow, all this terrorism "stuff" is all a farce.
can anyone remember the days of kadafi? he was going to destroy america during the 80's.

Let's see ... we don't want people in other countries to hate us so we invade a country for no reason (after forcing them to allow inspections which allow us to confirm that they are virtually unarmed) then we throw out habeas corpus and introduce torture ... as Dr. Phil would say "how's that working for you?".
