Damn, there are so many. She is one of the most brilliant lyricists around. If I HAD to choose one, it would be the Boho dance off the "Hissing of Summer Lawns" album. The juxtaposition of warrior drums for the quiet desperation (and sexual represssion) of feeling trapped in a suburban marriage is outstanding. Honorable mention for the wistful lyrics of "The Circle Game", one of the most beautiful songs about growing old ever written.

"California" - just because it reflects that period of time, and reflects my sentiment about the state and how I feel about "home". And now its again relevant with it's reference about the war. "...more about the war and the bloody changes..."
