It is a denotation of a pause longer than a coma (,) but not an end to a sentence. Like if you were thinking in the middle of your typing...

In Yahoo Answers it means someone has typed more than 30 characters without a space, and that's more than Yahoo can cope with. If you hover your mouse over this, you will see the rest of the string, but not for long:

This ... is called an ellipsis, and is used to mark a spot in a passage where some words have been removed, or a thought has trailed off...
This ............................................ is when you hold your finger down on the period too long. ;)
