I loved and shared with Gwenneth for 42 wonderful years. Loss was accompanied by such pain and despair I could have died but I am here and blessed.

Well, if you have never loved, then you don't know what it is you are missing. You also don't know what it is to have that love that is so deep you can't breath with his help. Your mind doesn't work for just you, but both of you. Everything ends up being about the two of you not just one. I hate the thought I could ever lose my husband, but I am so thankful I have him. The love I know because of him is deeper than any ocean. It is honest, pure and real. I with my heart of hearts believe it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

Even knowing how it turned out I would do it again. Trade all those fantastic highs and gut wrenching lows of true love.

Wow what a roller coaster. I never felt more alive. Even the bad times helped make me a better man.

Yep, It's better to have loved.

I would feel guilty that i had survived and they hadn't. On the other hand, if the person really deeply loves you, then i'm sure they are happy for you and okay with it up in heaven. If you believe in heaven. which i do. So I think its true. It is better to love and lose than never love at all. I guess you can always look forward to seeing them in the afterlife.

Even though it is extremely painful I would most definitely agreed. Never loving at all leaves your life feeling empty. When you've loved and lost at least you once knew what it was like to have your life completely full.

it is sooooo true.

I've loved and lost..permanently. I'll never be able to fill that hole in my soul, and there is a part of me that doesnt want to.

Love is not only the highs of a relationship... but how you deal with things when times are not so good. THAT tests just how much you love a person, and affirms your choice to spend the rest of your life with them...

I think that it is better to have loved and lost than to be stuck with an untrustworthy rat for the rest of your life. Consider yourself lucky.
