For a fun setting, put on island music and hula dance. A fun game is also put the flower on her hair, a game like pin the tail on the donkey. Also, have a contest for hula dancing and split people up into groups!

Party stores are awesome places to get all of this stuff, but the Dollar Store is really awesome and cheaper for decorations and stuff!

People have had really great answers! Here's another idea. Get a medium sized piece of cardboard, & with dark brown/black paint, make a big Tiki face on it. Paint blue with white mixed in all around it, so it's a light or medium blue. Get a knife & make the edges ragged so it makes you think of something woven from plants. Put it on a wall with windproof candles in front. How big is up to you, for the Tiki. Have fun!

I had a friend that had a tropical bday party and I made a huge tropical fruit tray (mangoes, papayas, etc) and made a bunch of small condiment cups of a light buttercream frosting that I tinted with food coloring in bright colors as a dip. It was a huge hit!
