Grauman's Chinese Theater has traditionally been big for such events, but movie premieres happen in many different major cities around the world. Sometimes they will premiere in cities or area with some relevance to the theme or location of the film's story.
Take the Simpsons movie for instance. A contest was held in which Springfields all over the United States vied to be the location for the world premiere of the movie.

Some movies don't have premieres. They are just released into many theaters at once. Other big budget movies are premiered in various places around the world. Example, Gone With The Wind, Atlanta, GA. Many are at some of the great old theaters in Hollywood. Some in New York and London. I think The Devinci Code was in Paris.

What time does it say on your invitation? If you don't have an invitation, arrive EARLY. Depending on the movie, some people wait for days. Others, just a few hours. I was mistaken earlier. I was thinking of the Oscars.

if its in hollywood it will almost always premiere in the chinese theater on hollywood blvd. i dont know if the kodak theater does premieres.
