Im pretty upset about something right now...I guess that makes me sefish. If I wasnt a kind guy I would of said "F You"...Thats sure what i was thinking...

But keep this in mind:
CARING for yourself might seem like "selfish" to others.
And the first person you must care of is YOURSELF.

You should have said it!!
Then no one would have called you selfish but perhaps assertive,right?
Sometimes people try to push your buttons because they want to see what you are made of,if indeed you will stand up for yourself your rights etc.....
If you don't want to talk about it because you do not want it to escalate into an argument the other players move is to call you selfish,because they're looking to crawl under your skin and fester a bit.
Bring you around so to speak.
Hey maybe you are selfish,and they just want you to agree?
Who isn't selfish and ya know what? You have that right.

a few months ago......by my own mother and I am a grown woman. Ouch. It was nice of you not tell them to F off. Good for you, but maybe you're not being selfish. Maybe you just know what you like and what you dont and youre doing what YOU want to do. Being upset about something doesnt make you selfish.

i have to be in work by 5 am. i live an hour away from work so i have to get up by 3:00 am to get the kids ready to be dropped off me ready and make it to work on time. the other night my daughter fell at 2am because she heard something outside and got scared. she cut her leg and recieved 24 stitches ..... my boss said i was selfish for not coming to work after i left the hospital at 7 am ........
