Of course you don't have to pay to change your political affiliation - then why doesn't the libertarian party clarify this?

And yes, you can donate to your party, but doesn't this article make it sound mandatory?

Yes, I paid $15 to $20 a year to the Libertarian Party for years.
I finally realized that it was a real loser, and stopped.
Rush did more in one year to promote Libertarian Ideas & Freedom, than the Libertarian Party did in years.

Rush told the Libertarians to disband and take over the Republican Party.
Good Idea!!!

The Communist Party & the Socialist Party disbanded and took over the Democrat Party.
IT WORKS. Look whats happened to the Democrat Party. It's now a bunch of Left-Wing Communist & Terrorist Supporters.

I was a member of the Libertarian Party - attending events, putting up campaign signs, calling members, donating money for campaigns, etc. - for about 10 years without paying a dime for membership. I just figured my time and political donations were enough. Then I decided to get the card and the newsletters by paying $25. It's optional.

You are confusing two idea: membership and identification. If you wish to JOIN (become a member of) you have to pay dues. You can freely identify with any party you wish for free.
