How can we as Americans combat the effects of terrorrism from within, and what can our future president do?

The Terrorists try to destroy all that makes our country great, our freedom, our acceptance of all cultures and all walks of life, ect.. by creating fear and distrust from within. They know the U.S. is too great to be brought down face on, so they have set out to destroy us from within, to have us destroy ourselves. To create a U.S. where we distrust each other, especially those who do not look like ourselves, and to create such strife within our own government that it can not stand, nor get anything accomplished, and thus becomes the laughing stock of the world. To create a situation where we are afraid to travel or go to large events, and when we do, we are subjected to such security meaures as to almost feel as though our freedoms have been taken away. What can we as Americans do, and what can our future president do, to combat these issues?

Ok, maybe some of you didn't pay attention to the question. The very hatred and mistrust of our fellow Americans who don't necesarilly look like ourselves is a big part of what I'm asking how we as Americans can combat. I'm not afraid of getting blown up. There's no way any terrorist would have the capabilities to blow all of us up, but if they succeed in destroying the multicultural spirit and the freedom that makes this country great, then they have already won.

Our future president can help us put our differences aside, so we can think as Americans instead of along partisan lines.

She can also bring back foreign relations to their former levels, so that America can be integral to the rest of the world, and not just Western interests.

I dunno. yet you deserve each and everything it is thrown at you. gain it. Obama in '08. Conservatives can suck it. If something, you Bush loving Conservative Republicans created this environment wherein the yank human beings won't be able to anticipate Bush to bypass away, and for Obama, qualified or no longer, to take the reigns. awaken to certainty. the international is rather against you. handle it.

I know exactly what we have to do. and the president to do..which Bush is doing nothing about..
we need hurry up and find other source of auto gasoline. like Brazil. If we don't need gas from middle countries then we could care less and let middle eastern countries to rot and they would be happy cuz we're not in their country.
I guarantee if we no longer rely on middle eastern oil, we will not be in middle eastern country and terrorist would have no excuse to try to destroy us.
also if oil becomes no revenue source for terrorist they would have no funds.

The funny thing is that the Islamist are using our own laws to protect themselves here and in Europe but they also capitalize on our guilty feelings. They know we will not stand up and denounce efforts to push Islam into everyday life of none Muslims (or even moderate Muslims who arent into the whole sharia thing). They know we will now sit by and watch as they force local governments and colleges to install footbaths and prayer rooms among other things are taxpayer expense. They will force us into a state of guilt that will lower our guard at airports etc. They do it in Europe and it is working,

Ok look i live in the metro detroit area we have the largest arabic population in the united states here something to the tune of over a million, and if everyone here isnt freaked out why are you, many of the sections of dearborn all the store fronts are in arabic, and it is common to hear the arabic language.dont be so paranoid over 24 /7 newscasts and yes im white not arabic.if there were to be a terrorist attack from an arab citizen it would most likely occur here, but you see the ones here didnt like the respective countrys they hail from . all im saying is worry less, in the end all things work out

We can support Bush 100% and suspend the elections indefinitely until the War of Terror on the Middle East is over. Surrender your rights to the Bush Administration. This is the only way to protect your rights. Any other President other than George W.
