I am only 19 years old and I am a full time student in college. Luckily, I got enough of scholarship money to not have to work. I also had to take out minimal loans. People always tell me that I am lazy because of this. I go to college and I am on the dean's list. It's not like I am wasting my money on partying an drinking. Why are others calling me lazy?

Missy Elliot: I think you would be happy even if you could go to college. No need to be jealous.

you should et a job because then you wouldnt have to take out those minimal loans because anything can come back and bite at you, extra money wouldnt hurt and you get to do something that replaces your... doing nothing. work experience IS pretty big when employers look at your resume. BUT if work is gonna replace your studying and that spot on the deans list, then i guess you dont have to work and just keep studying, that can be your excuse

because most college students work. they have to earn a living while earning the requirements to earn a living. Basically, you aren't learning work ethic and it sux cuz they are and you're just one of the ones who'll learn the hard way maybe. Also it was lazy to take out loans when you could've gotten a job and not had to owe any1 jack later. You should have gotten a chase education loan. That way you could work in college and earn money then save and pay back after graduation. I should get some money for that small ad right there.

In America, you are considered lazy if you don't have a job, no matter what your personal situation. Consider yourself fortunate if you don't have to work while you're in school. I would not hold that against you because you are trying to better yourself. Work can be a distraction while you're in school. Your education is the most important thing, finish school now, not later.

On the down side, I had a friend in college that didn't have a job until he graduated. His employer took advantage of him by paying him lower wages since he did not have a work experience.

Maybe by your Junior or Senior year in college you can have a student worker job on campus. The hours are flexible and the work is not real demanding.

Sounds like you are running with the crowd who does work, therefore they feel you should as well. There is a crowd who doesn't work, but they probably have a little bit of money.

I'm wondering who these "people" are and why you feel it necessary to tell them you don't have a job. I'm also wondering HOW you convey this information. Think about it and maybe you'll reach your own conclusions.
