the problem is not with the money and how rich the Country is, the problem is that the ones that are rich are Greedy, and will not help other people unless they can see a way to turn a profit. the people that do care cannot do anything to help, because they are the ones that do not have the money, to help. And the Government now has so many of the rich running things, that they are now Greedy with the Government's money. before the Government would help people, but now there are so many, rich in control that do not know what they are doing, but as long as they can get money out of it, is all that matters to them, so they tend to be Greedy with the Governments money, as if they want to save it, in a way that they can put it into their pockets. and do not care about anything else, not even the Country or people, but just themselves and their Greed for more. That is the main reason the Government is in the condition it is now, and guess what, it will only get worse, in time. So if you see the country as being rich, that does not mean that the Country is, just the Greedy rich. but not the people. if the people had the money. it would be changed. I see a way of changing things. but it would take a lot of work, and time. also, there must be trust between the people, of the country. many people may not agree with me, because they see it as being impossible, to do. but they are wrong, this may even seem, as if it is a little, should I say' wild to some. but it is the facts. even if people cannot see it. But the point is, to help others, we must first remove the problems that cause things such as this. Please think about this, even if you do not agree, am I not' on a very important point? that needs to be fixed. in time this will bring the Country down. I am not just writing this to answer a question. but also for the people or this country, to read. and think about what is going on, to cause problem like the homeless. that is only one things of many. ( Think About It )

There are many studies done on the homeless, mainly college students in the psychology field. You could contact any psychology department in any college and most likely find the studies that have been done.
There are many drug addicts, mentally ill, and some that simply lost their jobs and found themselves on the street. However, back in the 80s when the state let many mentally ill out of the state hospitals when they closed that department is when many mentally ill became homeless.

Just a friendly reminder... All potential sources will be skewed since there's an extremely high number of unreported homeless individuals who are mentally ill. Any figures cited should be given considerable latitude in light of the severity of this issue.

The real question is not how many but what are the lesser to greater signs that an individual has some symtoms of mental illness that is inline with the DSM guidelines and that which is assigned to a portion of an individual's arrested development of his or her personality.
