Check with http://www.tsa.gov as they are always updating the rules of air travel. Not sure if your canadian or from the US but we have different rules so check with your airline.

Hi,
My bride and I just returned from Cancun. The regulations changed about six months ago. Airport Security has very low limits on the amount of liquids and gels you can have in your possession. The limits are now in ounces. For best results place all your gels and liquids, toothpaste, pills, lip stuff and anything else in a zip-lock plastic bag. Bring a couple of bags. This will get you through the screening process without a lot of questions. One thing is you set off the detector and you'll be wand-ed and searched for sure, I had to go through it. My suggestion for your wine is pack it very good in your checked baggage, this will go through. Once on the plane to Cancun and close, you'll have to fill-out an immigration form to enter the country make sure you put down all the correct information USA for country, nationality, etc.
Hey good luck

No liquids are allowed in carry on baggage in larger bottles or containers.
So...check everything that you don't need. Most drug stores like Savon or Rite aid have travel size toiletries. use those and if they confiscate them no big deal. However; here is the rule.
3-1-1 for carry-ons = 3 ounce bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3 oz. container size is a security measure.
Consolidate bottles into one bag and X-ray separately to speed screening.
Be prepared. Each time TSA searches a carry-on it slows down the line. Practicing 3-1-1 will ensure a faster and easier checkpoint experience.
3-1-1 is for short trips. If in doubt, put your liquids in checked luggage.
here is the web site if you need more info. It actually has photos of how to pack your carry on etc. A very good site.

PS. Be sure to check with your airline. You might not be allowed to take the bottles in with you! However; It is rare to have baggage searched on the way into Cancun. you should not have a problem with your checked baggage. Just put one or two bottles in each bag.

You know for sure the wine isn't in Cancun? Don't be a snob try something new...
The Europea has a fantastic selection of imported and domestic wines.
If you can't live without your "favorite wine" perhaps you should be checking into Betty Ford instead of coming to Cancun.

I recommend that instead of carrying your wine to Cancun you will probably find the same brand name here in Cancun or find much the same quality for probably better price and you wont worry about smashing bottles in your suitcase.
In Sam's Club or in Walmart you can find a wide variety of Wines (in Cancun)
