Costco, definitely.
While there, get a gas-fired cooker, a minimum 5 gallon cooking pot with a base that is wide enough to fit the burner, and a stainless steel pail that has a fixed handle on the side. Stay away from the ones that have only a bail handle...not safe for your needs.
Nearby there will surely be some long-handled wood spoons, but stainless will do quite well.
Then search for about five pounds of coffee and a couple of quarts of cream.
Finally, pick up at least two dozen dozen beers and you are ready to depart.
Now, even though you live alone, you are prepared to handle the 25 pound bag of sugar properly !
Head on home and drink all the beer while you set up the equipment so that it will be ready to deal with your giant hangover the following morning, and provide you with the greatest caffeine jolt of your life.
Ahhh How sweet it is !

If you live alone and never bake, why would you want that much sugar??
Do what you have to! If this sugars going to make you happy then get it!!
Personally the smaller bag sounds better than getting the bigger one BUT if you buy the big one, you won't have to ask this question again for a really really long time. AND when the neighbours ask to borrow a cup of sugar you can give them heaps of cups instead of just one.
You'll be the best neighbour ever! SO, after thinking about it, I'd say go the big sugar.
Congrats on level 5 too.

Well, do you have somewhere to put the sugar if you buy 25lb?
Do you have a neighbour you could share it with?
I think I'd just buy the 5lb bag of sugar. It's a waste of space and your money is tied up. What happens if you have a flood and the sugar is ruined, or you end up with an infestation of bugs? I think the smart move is the 5lb bag of sugar.
Although, if you buy the bigger bag, you could bake and have a bake sale on Yahoo or just invite us all over for treats.
Hope this helps. All the best.

Well, with that much sugar you might be asking for trouble mister!
Have you considered the sugar ants?? What if word gets out that you have an abundance of sugar?? What then?
I would really just go with the 5lb. bag myself, but only if I were you, because I do bake and if I had that much sugar laying around man alive! I'd be baking cookies and cakes to rival Martha Stewart herself!
YES!

Buy a small package of sugar. 1 lb. Why buy 25 lbs. and then stare at it day after day being sugar until you end up hating the bag and doing something rash. Like baking 200 cookies or 100 Cinnamon rolls!!!

Just give Yahoo time, and you will get reported and loose points, guaranteed, everybody has. I shop at costco, and I would get the big bag of sugar, then you are set for a long time, plus the price is right .Have a good day.

If you go with the 25lb bag...can I have some? I ran out of sugar the other day. And I've been too lazy to go get some. It's hot...and I don't want to go outside if I don't have to. =)

I gave up going to those stores. I would be afraid to store that much sugar with all the ants running around in epidemic proportions! Also, as it is now, I have to store the mega packages of paper towels and TP in the shower stall!

You could always turn your pool into one giant Kool Aid drink for the kids in the neighbourhood with the 25lb bag.
It's summer, dude

Get the 5 lb. bag. Getting stuff like that in large quantities makes storage difficult.
