How is it possible that so many Americans are unsure if Clay Aiken is gay?

I just saw an excerpt from the TV Guide channel, which promoted Clay Aiken's new album and showed how Clay is tired of all of the same question. It is obvious that he is concerned about his career, but Elton John is gay. I haven't a doubt in my mind that Clay is gay. Why would it seem questionable? Because he won't admit it on an interview?

Well I'm not a fan but I think he is gay.....maybe he just doesn't want anyone to know cause it's his business? Maybe he is hiding it from his family not his fans? I don't know I would still like someone if they were gay or not, it makes no difference.

i think there are way more important things in the world that people should be involved with other than the sexuality of celebrities. LEAVE THEM ALONE!!! they are people just like everyone else, i don't understand why they are so idolized as if they have some sort of immortal secret or something, its ridiculous!

Don't judge people by their appearance. Just because a girl likes green does not mean she's a lesbian, just like if a little boy likes pink, does not mean he is gay... That also doesn't mean that liking those colors makes them straight, either. You have to get to know someone to judge them, and if you judge by appearances and music and images, than you obviously don't know that person. I don't mean to be rude, either, but... who cares?

maybe he maybe he isn't for the longest time people thought marcia cross bree from desperate housewives was gay because she was in her 40's and single but now she's married with twins okay bad example maybe he'll come out with it eventually maybe not.

Its not true. If he won't admit it on an interview its probably because he wants everyone to know that he is not gay. =)
