Well you can feel sorry for me if you like! Personally I truly pity someone who believes that there is any pride to be had in being English! And I wouldn't give house room to anyone on your list apart from Noel Coward (who would be made warmly welcome!)
I am so ashamed of what we are becoming in England that if anyone asks me I claim to be European! Which, of course, we all are now!
