I'm trying to prepare my mobile home for painting. There is alot of rust spots and places where the rust has even eating holes in the metal. I heard about a rust converter that turns the metal black and stops it but not sure of the name. Help

There is a product called :"Ospho" that I have used for years, and is the only product i will use..I am a 37 year experienced painter and have used this hundreds of time, on rusted metal roofs, steel beams and girders etc..You can spray this on with a common bug sprayer..let it set overnight and it actually east the rust, turns it white, then you use a stiff straw broom or wire brush, knock the loose white off dust, and your ready to paint..this also seals the metal from letting rust back on it...

You are talking about SUR-PREP V Rust Converter.
INDUSTRIAL COATINGS by CORONADO.

I bought a quart at ACE HARDWARE for $19.30 plus tax.

Does a great job when used right. Read the cautions!!!!

If you have holes they will have to be patched. Rustoleum makes a "rusty metal primer" that you can use before painting. The stuff you are referring to is available at ace hardware, but I can't remember the name.
