Because love touches our souls in such a way that it makes some of us cry. It could be tears of joy, or disbelief (i.e. u can't believe this person actually LOVES u or u might think that u don't deserve a persons love for whatever reason).
Or it could be the lack of or loss of love, and not love itself. That would be lonliness, sadness...
