I don't want any responses pro soymilk. My preg. kid and her hippy husband allow no cows milk, they eat tacos off a stand and profess healthiest diet. I have to back far off from this cause the skinniest, always going to the doc kids I've seen have similar diets! My other daughter says well their alive at least. I'm so sickened I can't watch the situation its too idiotic for me. Could anyone out there have had a similar situation? Again, don't lecture me, I've seen these sickly looking kids.

Wow, that's pretty out there. My husband and I have talked to both of our parents about food when we have children. But we just don't want them having candy. We've watched our nephew and two nieces become so engulfed with a sweet tooth that it's sickening. And especially since both of my parents are diabetic and have had heart problems, my husband and I just don't want our kids to start off on the wrong foot. But not permitting cows milk (at least once their a year old), that's a bit far fetched. On the other hand, they are the parents, so there are some boundaries. Just try to talk to them and get them to reason with you. Hear them out and make sure they hear you out. If you are very concerned that your grandchildren are malnourished, contact DHS for an investigation. Best of luck!

My situation is similair, my mother tried to show my kids a movie from a slaughter house to get them to stop eating meat. She doesn't trust that I know what is best for my kids even though I have 3 very healthy kids and I am a medical professional. But the bottom line is they are the parents. You have to respect that. All you can do is state your opinion and respect their wishes. Think back to when you were a mother, did you want your mom telling you how to raise your kids?

You're the grand parent, not the PARENT. If you are really so concerned about the welfare of your grandkids, call your state's child protective services. But, be warned that if you do so and CPS says there is no problem, be prepared to kiss both your grandkids and your own child a long good bye.
