Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Have you ever heard of this concept?
How can anyone DEMAND to be treated with respect if they do not treat others with that same respect?
Why do you insult the very society you are asking to accept you?

I treat everyone with respect until they show me they don't deserve it.

Everyone wants to be heard and given an equal opportunity to give their opinion. When that doesn't happen, a lot of people gripe and complain and say its "unfair".

Has life ever been about "fairness"? The last time I checked, life isn't fair. If you accept that and do not allow that fact to influence how you behave, you'll probably have a joyful and happy life. People rarely look for the best in a bad situation because complaining is much, much easier.

"Do Unto Others...." is a supremely small-minded and misguided ideal. Should masochists "do unto others as they would have others do unto them? What about policemen? Should they "not shoot" in the vain hope that the bad guys will get the idea and not shoot at them?

I do not demand from anyone. I only ask, and hope that in some way I will receive any and all that the LORD will provide for me, as it his will, not mine.

try reading Charles Kingsleys Water Babies - this concept is in that!

I agree with you though - treat others as you wish to be treated.

I've heard of it, yeah, and I try to follow it. Its odd, though, M, because all I ever see you doing around here is trolling around and insulting other people.

Thin kaboudit has a point but he's overanalyzing.

The world always had evil people and unfortunately it always will.
