My personal favorite, Ten Years Gone, but I swear almost every song they have ever made has at one point or another been my favorite. I just can't stand the new "rock" bands of today, they don't even compare. People are still talking about how great Led Zeppelin is today, do you think you will here anyone collecting albums from Staind or Nickleback in 20 years? I doubt it!

Yes, AC/DC, Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones are also great bands who will leave a dramatic mark on rock history!

Led Zeppelin is great! It sure would be cool to hear how they would sound these days if John Bonham was still with us. I think there are some good rock bands these days, but I don't think I would compare them to Led Zeppelin. Some of my more favorite song are: Kashmir, In my time of dying, The Rover and Heartbreaker just to name a very few.

Did you know that they started out as The Yard Birds? That was my era but listen to the words of the early RUSH songs and you will see why they are my favorite band of all times. The first 4 albums. Now I think that TOOL rocks, does that mean that I am going to hell for 10,000 days? I also like ROB ZOMBIE, and GOD SMACK. Oh and you can't forget KANSAS, the album Masque, or what about MONTROS with Sammy Hagar, the song Bad Motor scooter, Then there is JEFF BECK'S album The Best Of Beck, featuring Rod Stewart, Ron Woods, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant to mention a few. There is sooooooooooo much fantastic music to choose from I could never pick just one as a favorite but the Led will always be right up there. I did see there No Quarter tour in K.C. Kansas and I would have to say that it was the best sounding live show that I have ever heard. Jimmy had a triple neck guitar[mandolin, 6 string, and 12 string] there is a video of that one out if you haven't seen it then it is well worth checking out. Rock It.

They are in the top 5! The other four are:

* Beatles
* Stones
* Pink Floyd
* Moody Blues

The order of preference all depends on my mood! These are the CLASSICS - and yes, you are absolutely right - the bands of today can't compare. Years from now, no one will even remember their names, much less their music. All the truly great stuff has already been done. All we've got now are lame imitations, at best! I also agree that all the greatest stuff was done prior to 1990, but rock reached its zenith in the '70s. This music will live on forever!

As much as I love Led Zeppelin, no, I don't think they're the best. And I'm sure we've already be so fortunate as to raise such a magnificent band like them in this generation. We just may never know because they are truly all opinions.

Led Zeppelin is one of the best bands ever. I'm still a teenager, but I listen to more Led than any of today's rock bands, along with a lot of my friends. Led Zeppelin just played so many types of rock it is hard to get tired of them, from bluesy songs like 'Since I've been lovin' You' to driving rock songs like 'Rock and Roll' to weird songs like 'Kashmir". Oh yeah, 'The Ocean' - best song.

They are definitely one of the the best, one of the most influencial, & one of the most marketable.

Others in that category from that era that incorporate those criteria are:

Queen
AC/DC
Rolling Stones
Beatles

People say that you listen to for the rest of your life what you listened to at 18. Well there must be alot of 70s and 80s rock fans at age 18.

I just don't see any contemporary bands leaving a mark like theses great older bands. I don't even see great bands of the 80s and 90s like Pearl Jam or Def Leppard leaving the same mark.

BTW, my favorites are Immigrant Song and Ramble On :)

it only seems that bands from before 1990 keep people attention. today's musical acts will most likely not be as big in 20 years as rock bands of the 70's and 80's are today.

You're right. Even though I enjoy some new music and many different kinds of rock and metal, Led Zeppelin is still the best by far. Anyone who denies this is guilty of blasphemy.
