i agree 100%. it just goes to show that 90% of these ballplayers are overpaid crybabies.. it's not only true about MLB but all of professional sports and it's pretty lame.
these guys are supposed to be grown MEN, i wish they'd start acting like it.

The last I checked, Pujols wasn't the manager and didn't make out the lineup, therefore he should stick a sock in it. I didn't hear Michael Young complaining about Leyland not getting him in the game because I guess he respects the managers decision and understands that he is just one player on a team full of all-stars.
On top of that, if Rowand wasn't hitting 171 points higher than Pujols with the bases loaded or 68 points higher than Pujols with runners in scoring position, then he would have something to cry about.

i won't be in a position to understand why Pujols wasn't placed into the interest the two. i know if he had performed before interior the interest then he could have had to play outfield particularly of his universal place as quickly as the enjoying cards have been given back out to the sphere. yet...the 9th inning and national team has bases loaded with a raffle to win or a minimum of tie the interest? i think of LaRussa replaced into no longer especially intelligent for no longer having Pujols bat to grant the national team a battling danger. LaRussa says 'that wasn't the main severe element this night.' What replaced into the main severe element? dropping the interest?

I think Pujols should have noticed that it was actually a compliment that he was the last player on the bench, LaRussa was sure they'd at least tie the game and then if it went to extras he'd be able to PH Pujols who is a great hitter. LaRussa isn't trying to diss his own star. Michael Young last years all-star MVP didn't play at all yesterday and he doesn't seem to be crying. Most of the pitchers never get in.

If you said that to Pujols, being a class guy, he would probably thank you for your comment and walk on. OR he may break every bone in your body. Come to think of it I think I will break every bone in your body!! Im NOT a class guy.
I didnt see Albert 'crying', but he IS the greatest representative of the greatest game in 40 years so I can understand why he would be upset.

If it was any other manager it probably wouldnt be such a big deal. But it portrays a lack of confidence on Tony LaRussa'a part.
If I'm Torre and I have A-Rod sitting on the bench in that situation, I'm pinch hitting A-Rod. Same for Bochy and Bonds or LaRussa and Pujols.
He's the go-to guy and he's speaking out of frustration because he got snubbed.

Well I was not the manager, I would have put in Albert Pujos in that last at bat, better then Rowland, so I can see where he would be mad, I think he would have made a difference.
I can also understand LaRussa for not putting him in at at moment. If it would have gone extra innings he would have needed someone who could play more then one position out there.

I thought it was very strange that his own manager would not put him in the game! Maybe the best hitter in the game today? LaRussa's response also strange. I can't blame Albert for getting PO'd about it. Like he said, if he wasn't going to play he could have had 3-days off. He comes off sounding worse off than it really is...puzzling more than anything.

I think it's insane that he wasn't played....especially considering the end of that game. It was even more insane for him to even mention his negative feelings about it to the public....especially since it was his own coach. Did anyone hear Michael Young (last years MVP) complaining about not getting in the game? No. Why? Cause he's a true professional.

Its LaRussa's fault that the N.L lost. Pujols is one of the most clutch players out there, he easily could have won the game.
