Just say thank you.
My grandfather died about two weeks ago also and people usually say I'm sorry because they know words don't help right now.

It's the best they can do and they mean well, so just say thank you.

Either one - it's awkward for all parties, but it's normal for people to say they are sorry when a loved one passes.

Just tell them thank you and then tell them what a wonderful life he had - and he lived a long life, etc. That will put them at ease.

you could say either one, or both. "thank you, its ok" that would be fine.

I woudn't say It's okay, just say thank you, or thanks for your concern/caring, etc.
