When you feel ready and don't think you'll be taking your husband and your baggage into a new relationship. Don't just date out of fear of being alone. Do it when you're really ready to get in another relationship. I'd suggest you spend some time alone and ponder what you could do to make your next relationship better than this last one. Otherwise you'll just repeat the same mistakes.

I see no harm in getting phone numbers but I would wait till the divorce is final to go on a date just to be on the safe side.(even though he is the as*hole that left you when you went to take care of you sick mother.)
Good Luck and have fun!!!

How about waiting until the ink on the divorce papers has dried?

Jesus...what is it with men and women who immediately start looking to get someone to go with them and in their beds?

Your first marriage went to hell. Try looking it over and trying to find out where he and you..because you have a role in this too...went wrong. maybe then you'll chose wiser than before.

And don't kid yourself, kid. That's the best advice you'll get. Self evaluation is the way. If you're too lazy or egotistical to do it....you're doomed again before you're out of the gate.

If he is gone, and the relationship was already toast, move on, just be weary of being caught up in the new too quickly and jumping into a rebound relationship Go have some fun

You can pursue new and old friendships when the divorce is final. Until then, it's called adultery.
