Who is going to protect it from the far right? Now a Louisiana madam has said Senator Vitter did business with her also. Of course he is one of the true champions of the sanctity of marriage.

Death: No, the Louisiana (former) madam is a new one. Now there are two of them making accusations.

It really pisses me off! It's as if they want to use LGBTs as a diversion from their own failure to live by their own beliefs! Well, if they can't live by their beliefs, we shouldn't have to either!
Sorry for the exclamations, but damn, it does upset me.
PS--Tab, we're kinder than that, right? Let the Vitters deal with their own marriage (though I would hope the wife schedules a comprehensive gyno exam right away.)

Vitter's the guy who, in the middle of the Katrina crises (and he's a *Louisiana Senator, folks) was screaming that the biggest problem in American was neither the war in Iraq or New Orlean's problems, but was rather protecting the sanctity of marriage in all aspects, not just keeping it between men and women, but staying monogamous, raising families, the whole protection of the white-American-family nonsense. At the time I was ashamed, as a Louisianan myself.
Now of course, I'm sitting here laughing. He admitted to it all so fast, it was ridiculous.
It's only another example of a corrupt politician. I don't know what else to say.

Um, the Madam wasn't in Lousiana...she was a NEW YORK Madam.
The Senator IS from Louisianna.
Yes, his phone number was indeed in her "black book."
Yes, he has publicly spoken out against same-sex marriage.
What's funny is his wife's comments.
In 2000 Wendy Vitter commented about Hillary's decission to not live Bill after the whole Monica incedents. She said to the Times-Picanyunne:"I'm a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary. If he does something like that, I'm walking away with one thing, and it's not alimony, trust me."
So...how long before the Senator goes for reattachment surgury?

The same thing should happen to Vitter that happened to Clinton when he got caught with his pants down.
BTW Tab, no its not speculation, Vitter has admitted to it, its been all over the news here. There was a press conference in New Orleans yesterday.
DEATH: She was a New Orleans madame, go to 2theadvocate.com , the whole story is there.

Very good point, you are making. The religious right in general are some of the most hypocritical, self righteous, people in our country. Many are so judgmental as well. I have a book dealing with the so called sanctity of marriage issue, which deals with right- winged politicians who have openly spoken out against marriage. Many of them are cheaters, had multiple marriages and divorces, etc. We have all heard the story of Newt Gingrich, who tried to get his wife(who was dying of cancer) to sign divorces paper in her hospital bed. These sons of b*tches are some of the most pathetic people around.Yet we as Gay people are trying to destroy the institution of marriage.

Because he was sleeping with a Madam not a Monsieur. I personally believe that they should do what their doing to sanctify marriage and more. I don't believe in stoning someone for adultery, but maybe a civil citation(if that makes any sense).

ahahaha.... things like this make me laugh. if middle aged white men want to throw out quotes on the so called sancuary of marriage when they have been sleeping around on their third wife (one that will file for devorse when he's caught) for the passed decade then isn't it like sticking a knife in your own back? besides, LGBT marrages are probably alot more sanctuary then straight ones, if you take in mind the increeseing devorce rate...... *sighs....* i just looooooove america.

Well at this point it is speculation right - so don't nail him to the cross yet. BUT I would not be surprised and I think his marriage should be annulled if this is the case.
EDIT:
I went online and read about it - THANKS for the information. That is really interesting.
